CPS Amara 2008

What if I told you that I had a great time in a place where I would have never went if it were up to me.. Yes, I know, good things always take you by surprise.
I like meeting people, but not so many of them.. Surprisingly, the Amara experience somehow changed my opinion on human nature. I met great and amazing people, and even more surprisingly, smart ones (even thought they took the wrong train to home .
Between the drinking, the laughing, the games, the conferences and the punishments (and there were many of those) I belive that all of us got the chance to meet people with high expectations from themselves and from life in general.
And because of that, CPS was a success.
In case you were wondering what CPS is, here you have the info.. CPS stands for Cultural Preparation Seminar and it is organized by AIESEC for participants in the Exchange program. It is meant to give you an idea about the problems and the opportunities that working in a company abroad can bring, from the cultural point of view.
What more can I say?! Just enjoy life and go with the flow… You might get surprised.

Impresii:

Train the Trainers

Pe romaneste, cum sa devii trainer.

Conferinta a avut loc in Arges, mai exact in minunatul Satic City, undeva pe langa Rucar in data de 7-10 august 2008.

Thanks guys for the memories!

"
My Experience in Romania,

What can I say, there are so many good things to talk about.

I will start with the Charming welcome at the airport. There were, Beldy, Daniel, Andrea, Alexandra, Pani and MaFrend waiting for me at the door. They took me to the dorm where I would be staying for the next 6 weeks. I met my Roommate and Colleague Nar, who happened to be awake. The next day I went to the Aiesec office, where I met the rest of the aiesecers. They were all very friendly and welcoming. During the first week I got to know the city and some of its landmarks. I remember going to the Zoo, Trivale Park, the City Center, the Museum, etc.

That weekend, Lazer, from Aiesec, threw his birthday party at his place. This was the greatest party ever! The only thing I remember from that party was that Marius and Bogdan were trying to make me go to sleep. I surrendered with tremendous tiredness and sleepiness afterall.

The members from Exchange planned some activitites for the com
ing week.We went to play pool one day, the next we went to the disco, followed by karaoke. We were so tire that we decided to have a day off!. On friday night though, we went to Zyon, a famous disco, known for its pretty and hot dancers.
Beldy, along with other aiesc-ers, took us to his hometown, Campulung. This is where I tasted the best pateus ever!. We also visited the Dambovicioarei Cave, and On our way to Pitesti, we visited the campulung muscel. The coming days i had the oppportunity to attend a philarmonic concert.

After enough sightseeing, it was time to get to work. The design of the trainings was very exciting, especially when the aiesecers provide all the support you need.
This was a good learning experience, I was working in teams all the time, there were discussions, brainstorming, preparation simulations. I have to say that I learned a lot from my roommate and the Aiesecers. What I noticed, is that they worked really hard to accomplish their goals. I learned to be more diplomatic and respect other people's point of view. The Summer School participants were very enthusiastic about t
he project and they were all very open-minded.
Last but not least, there was a global village organized by Aiesec Pitesti. It was exciting because the summer school participants were involved and they had to represent a different country.

Summer School came to an end, but there were still more activities going on. For example, Aiesec Olympics, organized by Aiesec Galati. It is a 4 day event that took place on the beach. This is where all LCs from Romania get together and do games/competitions, and of course Party!.
The following weekend I attended a functional conference in Targu Mures where i met other trainees and Aiesecers.

I could go on and on writing about my adventures and crazy moments I had in Pitesti. I don't want to make it too long and boring, and the truth of the matter is my stay in Romania would not have been as fun if it wasn't for you guys from Aiesec Pitesti. I had a phenomenal experience. I met the craziest, coolest, funiest, most talented, down-to-earth people ever!!!.

I am definitely coming back!!! Thank you very much for this wonderful experience.!!! Miss u all!!!

Regards, Chris Bustamante
"

We miss you too Chris!!!
We are expecting you :D !!!
Thank you!!!

Nar si cateva impresii , trainee Summer School

Asa cum spuneam in celalalt articol au fost 2 trainee pe Summer School si acum il prezint pe Nar , nascut in Mongolia, studiaza in Cehia si a venit pentru prima data intr-un stagiu de lucru platit in AIESEC Pitesti.

Cateva cuvinte si impresii din partea lui:

" My traineeship in AIESEC Pitesti

I wanted to go to Romania out of five Eastern European countries.

Why?

As a developing country it would give me an opportunity to explore a life different than Czech Republic. The transportation cost was cheap as it was just few kilometers away. At first I was doubtful because I had to apply for visa unlike the other Schengen countries. But my Romanian teachers/friends helped me eagerly and I was on my way to Romania on June 9th.

From the moment of welcome, I was part of a collective and supportive group. Although I enjoyed being the center of attention at AIESEC Pitesti, I am grateful that they gave me space to contemplate and evaluate myself. Overall, my impression about Romanian people is that they are friendly and funny people . I also noticed that way more people speak English than in Czech Republic.

I had three main goals and a “can-do” attitude with me when I went to Romania.

First goal of mine, to be more charismatic, was certainly accomplished. Thanks to this traineeship I am way more self confident as I enjoyed my job. The next goal was to use the college course knowledge I learnt in real-life. Honestly I did not use financial and macroeconomic knowledge, but all the rest was tested and had surprising results. Finally the third goal was to learn to be culturally tolerant. Although Pitesti city was not so diverse, I learnt at the same time I taught about Cultural Diversity and it was the most successful training I have ever attended.

One thing I did not enjoy at all was the insects at the certain dormitory.

To conclude, I did my traineeship in Romania for a month and a half. I immediately liked the people. I did my traineeship successfully. I accomplished my goals fairly good. If I had been more active and more punctual, it would have been a better experience. But do I regret it?

I think my traineeship in AIESEC Pitesti was the wisest choice I have ever made in my life.

In urmatoarea zi am participat la "How to PR - Online and Offline" sustinut de Constantin Ferseta de la Neogen.
